From Survival to Spotlight

I feel like life is coming full circle.
Many years ago, I set out to be a performer. From the time I was very young, I knew my calling was the stage. Sometimes it was just singing. Other times, it was singing and playing music I had written. I performed in school musicals, often in lead roles, and eventually discovered my love for performing in a rock band. Though I pursued many different styles of music through education, I had finally found my niche — the frontwoman of a band.
Then life sidelined me.
The rug was pulled out from under me in the rock and metal world. I wasn’t on stages anymore. Instead, I was performing another kind of act: survival. It took its toll. But every so often, I managed to climb back onto a stage through chorale performances, solo work, and community theater to satisfy that need to perform. It kept me whole through some very rough years.
If you’ve followed my journey at all, you know what happened next. I escaped the world that kept me trapped in survival mode and slowly began finding myself again. I started writing music again, and that need to perform was screaming at me to come back to myself.
So I did.
Eden On Fire was born, and it’s been an incredible ride so far. Somewhere along the way, I realized my performance chops were stronger than ever. And through our music videos, I was even able to reconnect with another passion of mine — acting.
“Listen To Me” was our first video.
Today, I’ve been nominated for Best Actress in a Music Video at the prestigious Josie Music Awards.
I never could have imagined this moment. But here I am again, doing what I love most and receiving recognition along the way.
I could not be happier.
